Waste & Recycling Collections in London
Orion operates a daily waste collection and recycling service in Central London and the surrounding area. We are able to collect bags and bins. We carry out up to five collections per day, seven days per week and can collect from the kerbside, basements or designated waste collection areas. Perfect for offices, shops, hotels, pubs and clubs.
We can supply general waste bags and bins; or our popular easy recycling bags (and bins) into which you can put all your dry recyclables without the need to sort them. Mixed recycling bags and bins can take all types of paper, plastic, cans, newspapers, magazines and card - almost all waste generated in an office or shop. We also collect segregated glass and cardboard. All of our bags are jumbo-sized (8kg) and, because we service nearly 1000 customers in Central London, we can afford to offer low prices.
The mixed recycling is taken to Bywater's new £7m cutting-edge Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) constructed over 9.2 acres in Bow only two miles from the City centre. This is the largest undercover dry recyclable MRF in London and can process up to 15 streams of mixed up office and commercial dry recyclable waste. The MRF is largely automated to maximise efficiency and recovery rates. It employs state-of-the-art technology to recover a different material at every point of the process (see video), bringing a wide range of materials back into the recycling loop. This fantastic new facility achieves recycle rates of 95% and runs at a capacity of 140,000 tonnes per annum.
